Overview

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer with combined general automotive, machine shop, mechanical design, and manufacturing experience to perform engineering tasks related to the manufacturing of Ground Support Equipment for the airline industry.

Qualifications

Must possess/have experience with the following:

· Minimum High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience, or college degree with 6+ years of relevant experience

· Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects concurrently

· Strong mechanical aptitude

· Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills

· Ability to provide accurate fabrication and assembly engineering guidance

· Mechanical design experience using CAD (preferably Autodesk AutoCAD)

· Working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum (sheet metal, plate, tubing, bar)

· Basic understanding of Computer Numerical Control (CNC)

· Experience with and strong understanding of hydraulics (cylinders, mechanical and electromechanical valves, hydraulic circuits)

· Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing systems)

· Ability to read and create schematics (electrical, hydraulic, plumbing)

· General automotive experience (gasoline/diesel powertrains, 12 VDC electrical circuits, braking systems)

· Basic line voltage electrical experience (120 VAC, 240 VAC circuits)

· Basic plumbing (threaded joints)

· Basic Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher

Desired

In addition to the qualifications mentioned above, the ideal candidate shall possess/have experience with most or all the following:

· 3D CAD (preferably Autodesk Inventor)

· Maintenance and repair of machine shop equipment (Bridgeport mill, cold saw, shear, press brake, ironworker etc.)

· CNC plasma cutter

· Press brake bending calculations

· Tool design

· Turret punch press programming, operation, and maintenance

· Experience with PLC driven automotive or industrial systems

· Designing work holding and fixture solutions
